Toddler Program (2-3 years)
Our Toddler Program focuses on providing children with a positive and supportive environment for their first learning experience away from home. This program supports the young child as she or he develops coordination, personal and social awareness, a sense of order, and concentration. Toddlers will develop independence and concentration through practice of basic life skills. The children enter an environment planned and prepared especially for the two- to three-year-old. They come to feel the classroom is their own peaceful, special space where they play a meaningful role in their own care and the care of their classroom environment. Materials are designed so even the youngest child experiences success in their work, while allowing the older or more advanced child to find stimulating work as well. The student – teacher ratio is a maximum of 6:1.
An open, supportive relationship between teachers and parents is essential to providing optimal conditions for the toddler in the Montessori classroom. Daily communication, formal conferences, and parent enrichment classes contribute to an atmosphere in which each child can realize his or her full potential.
We offer the toddler program five mornings per week, with an option to choose three days, two consecutive days, or all five days.
